- Marx criticizes German philosophy that has originated as man’s creation, but has later grown to be something independent of and alienating for men. He proposes to start philosophy/history from “real”, empirical, materialist premises about man’s actual existence and life processes. The premise is basically that men’s mode of production lies at the root of everything, including men’s social relationships and their ideas and concepts.
